For this small piece of land set amidst an urban context, Ananas designed a lush, dense urban food forest that is self-sustaining and regenerative in terms of food, water and energy. This land also houses a weekend home which hosts guests. The food forest includes native fruit trees and a dense living fence, to create a thick buffer + provide an oasis for flora & fauna. The most important issue to be addressed here was stormwater management, which was achieved through a series of earthworks to redirect, stop, infiltrate and utilise water. Soil building was another focus, considering the site had soil that had a lot of construction waste.
