BCC is a one-stop-shop showcasing various sustainable alternative solutions for food, water and energy in a museum format. They approached Ananas to work on the permaculture zone in which they want to demonstrate best practises to grow food in urban spaces.
Over the course of four sessions Ananas guided volunteers in the set up of a food forest using materials from BCC’s go down and native and perennial edible and medicinal plants. The garden also includes a planted grey water channel leading to a pond, the water from which is used to irrigate the garden.
Through community gardening, seed and cutting exchange and knowledge and skill sharing, this is a space for active engagement and learning for all who visit.
