The vision for Elephants by the Lake was to create a shared ecosystem and replicable playbook for all things regenerative. A farm built on the principles of permaculture to restore the existing ecosystem, make the most of the resources on site (stream, wetland, lake), and create a multi-yield forest that increases the diversity of the existing Mango orchards and grow food in abundance for all inhabitants (human and non-human). The aim is to work with the people of CT Palli and to achieve socio-economic solidarity, and to inspire others to attempt to do the same.

In order for this to happen documentation, data collection, testing, and sharing information from the project through photos, videos and monthly reports have been a priority throughout - these can be viewed on the project website ebtl.earth

We have focussed on the water and planted systems and on setting up a ground team that can execute and manage the elements we put in place. In addition to these foundational aspects, wildlife and the built environment have also been a part of the work.
