Services

We do ecological design.

We design for whole systems that harvest water, grow forests and provide for human habitation in:

Farms and Large Landscapes

Urban Commons

Collectives, Communities & Layouts

Schools, Institutes and Industries

We are dedicated to teaching people about their land and follow a systematic process that involves the client and the community at every stage.

Through knowledge sharing we seek to empower people with the information they need to understand and feel comfortable with the systems we create with them.

Land Design Services

Initial Visit + Recommendations

Do you have a specific, defined problem you’d like to solve? Or would you like to get to know us a little before going for a bigger engagement? To start small, call us for an initial visit.

Our team will make one visit to your site, make observations, discuss your vision for the project and any immediate needs you might have, and provide a set of verbal recommendations.

Following the visit you will be given a brief
report summarising our observations, immediate recommendations and resources you might need e.g. vendor contacts, sources for materials etc.
This initial engagement does not include any detailed design work.

Masterplan + Recommendations

This is a longer, more involved engagement that usually takes a minimum of two months (and can go up to a year depending on the size and nuances of the project).

Ananas will undertake multiple visits to the site, make observations and design the masterplan for your land based on your vision.

This map is accompanied by a detailed
design document containing the environmental study, zoning, element details and linkages, and the implementation sequence.

Once you are happy with the design, we will walk the land with you to visualise it, as well as
demonstrate the implementation of planting and/or water harvesting structures to get the work on ground started.

(Click the button below for more information on our design process.)

Once we have the design in place, we work with you on implementation.
This can take one of the following forms:

Implementation Guidance

The masterplan is broken down into a sequence for execution.

If you’re comfortable with the design and have the manpower to take it forward, you can implement it yourself with our support. This means you yourself handle the management and payment of vendors, contractors and the workforce as well as the sourcing of materials.

The nature of our involvement will be decided based on your requirements. Broadly, Ananas will be involved on a site visit-to-site visit basis to plan work flow, do demonstrations, be present on ground during implementation work, be available for e-mail and phone conversations, and share resources, vendor contacts and other necessary information.

Turnkey Implementation

This differs from Implementation Guidance in that here we handle the entirety of the implementation work. We put together a proposal for the work that needs to get done and handle material sourcing, putting together an on-ground team, all payments, timelines etc.

This option requires a contractual agreement to be signed by the client with Ananas.

Workshops

One of the things we love the most is connecting with people who have a shared love for the living world. By exploring landscapes and regenerative ways of thinking together, we interact with our environment in ways we might never have imagined. These get-togethers take various forms, from more formal workshops that cover both theory and hands-on sessions, to walks through forests and established and establishing projects, to full-on volunteer days with the main aim of getting our hands dirty and getting work done.
