We do ecological design.
We work with land and people to co-create resilient, regenerative systems.
Whether you're looking for a small first step or a full-scale transformation, we offer services tailored to your land, your needs, and your pace.
This includes one-time site visits, detailed masterplans, support through implementation, ongoing maintenance, and hands-on workshops for those who want to learn by doing.
Land Design Services
1. Initial Visit + Recommendations
Do you have a specific, defined problem you’d like to solve? Or would you like to get to know us a little before going for a bigger engagement? To start small, call us for an initial visit.
Our team will make one visit to your site, make observations, discuss your vision for the project and any immediate needs you might have, and provide a set of verbal recommendations.
Following the visit you will be given a brief report summarising our observations, immediate recommendations and resources you might need e.g. vendor contacts, sources for materials etc.
This initial engagement does not include any detailed design work.
2. Masterplan + Recommendations
This is our most comprehensive design service, ideal for those ready to dive deep.
Over a longer, more involved engagement spanning 2 months to a year depending on your land and the project’s nuances, we co-develop a detailed masterplan rooted in your vision.
The deliverables include:
✔ A zoning map for your land
✔ An environmental study
✔ Design details for key elements and systems
✔ An implementation sequence
Once the design is complete, we walk the land with you to help visualise how it will take shape. In many cases, we also demonstrate the first steps - such as key planting or water harvesting structures - depending on the season, site conditions, and readiness for implementation.

Implementation support
Once the design is in place, we offer two pathways to bring it to life:
3. Implementation Guidance
The masterplan is broken down into a sequence for execution.
If you’re comfortable with the design and have the workforce to take it forward, you can implement it yourself with our support. This means you yourself handle the management and payment of vendors, contractors and the workforce as well as the sourcing of materials.
The nature of our involvement will be decided based on your requirements. Broadly, Ananas will be involved on a site visit-to-site visit basis to plan work flow, do demonstrations, be present on ground during implementation work, be available for e-mail and phone conversations, and share resources, vendor contacts and other necessary information.
4. Turnkey Implementation
This differs from Implementation Guidance in that here we handle the entirety of the implementation work. We put together a proposal for the work that needs to get done and handle material sourcing, putting together an on-ground team, all payments, timelines etc.
This option requires a contractual agreement to be signed by the client with Ananas.
Maintenance
Our commitment to projects extends beyond design and implementation.
We offer comprehensive maintenance services to ensure the ongoing health and vitality of the land and its ecosystem.
Our maintenance team provides regular site visits to assess the landscape's progress, address emerging challenges, and implement necessary care. This includes:
Regular inspections: Monitoring the overall health of your ecosystem.
Expert guidance: Providing recommendations for optimal care and maintenance.
Practical assistance: Implementing tasks such as desilting, tweaking earthworks, mulching, pruning, planting, etc.
Plant care: Checking the health of planted species, identifying new growth, recommending IPM (integrated pest management) strategies and addressing any urgent issues.
Training and support: Empowering you or your caretaker with the knowledge and skills for ongoing maintenance.
Our goal is to empower you with the knowledge and tools to care for your landscape while providing ongoing support to achieve optimal results.
Workshops
One of the things we love the most is connecting with people who have a shared love for the living world. By exploring landscapes and regenerative ways of thinking together, we interact with our environment in ways we might never have imagined. These get-togethers take various forms, from more formal workshops that cover both theory and hands-on sessions, to walks through forests and established and establishing projects, to full-on volunteer days with the main aim of getting our hands dirty and getting work done.

Seasonal timelines
Our work is dependent on the seasons and the climate of the land. Here’s how our services typically align with the seasons:
Service | Timeline |
---|---|
Initial Visit & Recommendations | Year-round |
Masterplan & Recommendations | Year-round |
Earthworks Implementation | Dec–Mar, or pre-monsoon (site-specific) |
Other (eg. marking, pathways) | Dec–Mar, or pre-monsoon (site-specific) |
Planting Implementation (pit preparation) | Sep–June |
Planting Implementation (planting) | May–Aug (or year-round with reliable water) |
Workshops / Walks | Year-round |
Planning Ahead
If you’re considering implementation work, please plan to reach out at least 2–3 months in advance. For example, to schedule earthworks or planting in March, we recommend contacting us by December or January.
If your design engagement concludes close to an ideal implementation season, please note that we require a minimum of 1–2 months to plan and schedule the next phase.
Design and implementation are treated as separate engagements. Completing a design with us does not automatically guarantee priority scheduling for implementation, as ongoing projects and seasonal demands may affect availability.
